John Masterman attended Saint Mary's College of Moraga and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics. Studied architecture in 1972.

He worked in construction during and after college and was exposed to many aspects of that industry.

He entered into the commercial real estate business in 1977. John was recognized within his company as a member of the President's Club in 1980 and 1984 for outstanding sales performance.

Through the first eight years, John had extensive experience leasing office and retail space. For several years, John was primarily devoted to the sales of office and retail property with an emphasis on medical office property.

He has developed raw land into office buildings and remodeled a number of industrial, R&D, and office buildings.
